Basic Information:
- Head coaches must be 21 years old or older, Assistant coaches must be 18 years or older.
- Must go through interview process, if required by the Coach Selection Committee.
- All volunteers must complete background checks (except Jr. Helpers) and concussion training.
Head Coach Responsibilities:
- Expected to attend all scheduled player evaluations.
- Have overall responsibility and organization of their team/squad.
- Must appoint a team parent and/or administrator.
- Must uphold rules and regulations of the CFA Bylaws, as well as decisions of the CFA Board.
- Must attend the annual CFA Coaches Clinic.
- Must complete concussion course provided by the CFA, free of charge.
- Communicate any information passed to them by the CFA Board to their team/parents.
- Review code of conduct with parents and participants at the initial team meeting.
- Show up for all scheduled duties, such as Field Maintenance, Field Manager, or Concessions.
- Responsible for his/her sideline, fans, and coaches throughout the game. Should any problems arise they cannot handle, they should consult with the Field Manager.
- Ensure sidelines/bleachers are clear of any trash after their game is over or disciplinary action will be taken.
- Responsible for collection all equipment in the event a participant quits, as well as inform the Secretary.
- Contact insurance coordinator in the event of player injury that results in medical attention.
- Signing and picking up all team uniforms/equipment and distribution.
- Responsible for return of all equipment.
- Responsible for the play sheets being filled out properly. Board Members and/or Field Managers may check play sheets at anytime. The sheet must be signed and returned to the Field Manager after the game or they will be penalized.
- Responsible for the score board operations when the home team and the chain crew when the away team.
- Must attend mandatory meetings and fulfill mandatory coach duties.
- Responsible for setting up, picking up, and returning all field equipment to the storage shed.
Assistant Coaches:
- Maximum of 4 assistant coaches per Mighty Mite, Midget, and Bandit teams; 2 assistant coaches per cheer and Anklebiter team; and 3 assistanct coaches per Flag team.
- Must be pre-approved by the Board and pass all background checks.
- Must complete concussion course prior to the first game.
